Q:
How much does a membership cost? How can I pay?
A:
FoneScout costs $29.95 for a one-year membership. Our payment processor accepts
various credit cards for online payment.
Q:
Do you have trial memberships?
A:
Every membership is a trial membership, with our money-back offer. Very few customers
take us up on it, but if you do, we'll treat you courteously.
Q:
What if I am not satisfied with FoneScout's service?
A:
We offer a 60-day, no-questions-asked money-back guarantee. To apply for a refund, please
send an email to the
webmaster
with this information:
- Your username (you chose this when you signed up)
- Your email address
- The date you signed up
We will then look up your account, tell our payment processor to credit your card,
and disable your login.
We try to give same-day service, but please allow three business days for refunds, as they
are handled personally.
Q:
How long does a membership last?
A:
Your membership will last one year from the date you sign up. After that, your login won't
work, unless you decide to renew.
Q:
Will you rebill my credit card?
A:
No. You must deliberately renew your account in a year.
Q:
Do you keep my credit card information?
A:
No, in fact we never have your credit card information.
Authorize.net, Inc. is a payment processor
for FoneScout. They are a reliable, trusted company that uses encryption
to handle secure purchases online.
Q:
How do you protect my privacy?
A:
Please read our privacy policy link, on the top and bottom of this page.
Q:
Can I access secret financial information, such as social security numbers
and telephone call records using FoneScout?
A:
No, we feature only above-board information from public sources. The value FoneScout
provides is in selecting, organizing, filtering, displaying, and integrating public data
into an easy-to-use format, without ads, clutter, sales pitches, or shysters. All in a
safe, private environment that's not open to the public.
Q:
How fresh is your data?
A:
We work on FoneScout every day, updating, cross-checking, and refreshing data.
We download NANPA data monthly and Numbering Plan data quarterly.
Q:
Why can't I phone you?
A:
There are thousands of people per day who use our data for research. The low cost of a membership
does not allow phone support. We read and respond to emails, so please write to us with questions.
Q:
Do I have unlimited access to your database?
A:
Close to it, with a few exceptions. To protect from hackers, we have systems that detect
programmed searches. Our system will shut out such overload. If you get inadvertantly
caught by that system, let us know and we'll put you back in.
Q:
What other limits on usage do you have?
A:
One account with a login per person. Please don't share your password!
Our system can detect if multiple people are using the account and
will shut off the account if that happens. It's a compliment that people like FoneScout so much that
they post the login on the web for their friends to use. But we don't allow account sharing
and the system will automatically terminate the account if it detects several IP addresses using the
the account within a limited (or simultaneous) time frame. If this happens to you, write to the
webmaster
and ask for a reinstatement.
Q:
Are there additional charges once I become a member?
A:
We have no additional charges. Your internet search may lead you to outside sources which
charge extra, but it won't be us.
Q:
May I have a free account?
A:
Generally, no. We can give time-limited accounts to the news media for the purpose of writing reviews.
Q:
Can I search people from other countries?
A:
Generally, no. Our data is mostly focused on the USA and (to a lesser extent) Canada.
Q:
How soon after sign-up may I use the system?
A:
Right away. Once our payment processor completes the sale, you'll be sent an email with login and password.
